As everyone else has already discussed, they will never work, which is why I didn't post much about them.
At this point Trump's administration can be summarized as Globalism, but with edgy Reddit memes & 40% more Silicon Valley scammers. Wonderful!
This started to become more and more clear to me when he started doing the rounds on the right-wing media podcasts, an indication that he was just another brand in the Conservative Extended Universe, not an agent for change against the corrupt system, and therefore not worth expecting much out of. This is why I was fairly tepid about the whole thing, while of course expecting him to win (because of the terrible job Biden and the Dems did).
I was then proven right in my views as Trump doubled down on every single failed issue once in office-- inflation, wars in Ukraine & the M-E (maybe even a new one there, too), and now these tariffs. Trump might be feeling inspired by his friends in Israel, who are doing everything they can to destroy their own country by starting as many wars against as many opponents as possible, and is taking a similarly suicidal path economically. Who knows...
The larger take-away is that the Trump admin will not be that different from Biden's, just a useless moron lashing out at his own people, for no reason, all while pursuing doomed and pointless crusades at home and abroad, for no benefit.
The silver lining is that he will do as much damage to the credibility of the mainstream Republican agenda as Biden did to the Democrats', leaving it weaker if / when any real alternative shows up.
Israel's suicidal behavior, and the deranged fanatic masochist attitude of its supporters, certainly deserves its own post, if anything just to get my feelings out on the subject.
ReplyDeleteThe entire thing is an example of just how far the social media slop has evolved on its own, due to the unique dynamics resulting from being an insular echochamber where nobody is held accountable for anything, has to explain themselves, or is required to present hard evidence or have a coherent world-view.
I mean the insane idea that Israel is a bastion of Western High IQ Civilization fighting against the forces of barbarism and evil, and therefore we must support it for that fact alone.
They try to boil it down to, "Do you sympathize with Western civ or not?", so that the main divide is between the Based Right and the Woke Left, and then the debate unfolds along those lines. So, if you're against Israel, you must be a masochist or self-hater, a critic of the glorious civilized West.
In reality, this is total slop. Slop infestation. Slop overdose!
Calling Israelis "Western" is like calling Russians or Poles or Ukranians Western, since that is in fact where the majority of the Zionists came from before entering Palestine.
They have not contributed to Western civ in any aspect, since they were never part of it. Their heritage is not Western in any way: Israelis did not create or contribute to Baroque paintings, or cathedrals, or symphonies, or Catholicism or Protestantism, or any of the defining features of Western civilization-- they played as much of a role in it as the average Zambian did. In other words, none.
Israel is a LARPing state, a fake country with no culture or spirit of its own, which is dependent entirely on America for its security. They might as well be the Buffalo Bill country, in terms of the difference between what they present as and what they are.
This is also why the supporters of Israel do not resemble winners, but rather a giant group of losers who want to feel a rush from seeing someone else suffer, but are too pathetic to pick up a fight with someone equal to them (which they would lose), so they just single out innocent people instead, those that can't defend themselves, civilians, etc. They masturbate to and get off on watching apartment buildings being blown up, civilians starving, devastation, and all the rest of the genocidal campaign-- it has nothing to do with advancing self interest, as in conquering territory or obtaining resources (none of which they get from destroying Gaza), it's just an outlet for seething anger, spite, and bitterness. Like I said, a serial killer state.
If you view yourself as some kind of ruthless high IQ alpha male, who doesn't care for or is above rules, morality, and other constructs, then you should identify with Hezbollah and the broader Axis of Resistance-- since that's who is actually winning, as Israel lashes out furiously, disintegrates from within, and ultimately collapses once America can no longer prop it up.
ReplyDeleteIsraelis and their Western cheerleaders may cope with some Hezbollah fighters (or just Lebanese civilians, in most cases) "fucking around and finding out", but Hezbollah can't do the same with the residents of Northern Israel-- because the entire area has been abandoned, there's nobody there to kill, meaning that Israel has ceded territory. Instead of being the ones invading, they're getting slowly annexed!
This feat has been achieved with drones and other low-cost technology, an actual demonstration of intelligence and experience triumphing over bloated complexity.
And all without Hezbollah bankrupting itself, or becoming 1000% reliant on its ally Iran-- whereas the so-called superior country of Israel is only alive because of the US.
But none of the people discussing the subject online know what's going on, or care, they've just been manipulated by the FBI / CIA / DOD at aiming some of their hatred and anger at their external opponents, effectively doing their work for them. In this case brown people or the Axis of Resistance or Muslims, in some other one it will be generic white working class people, and on and on it goes.
In the few cases where the based alpha males pick sides, it's only to emotionally identify with the bitter crybaby losers, who even with trillions of funding, free ammunition, diplomatic influence, and all kinds of benefits from America-- still can't keep themselves afloat.
Sad!
I haven't posted on the beginning of the war with Iran, mainly because I don't have much to say that's very new, although it of course has been very dramatic and I expect it to get a lot more intense.
ReplyDeleteAlmost everything to be said has been said by better sources, and most people know who they are and how to find them these days. The one silver lining from this mess is that there are a lot more anti-establishment and specifically anti-war people on YouTube and social media generally, since foreign wars have never been more unpopular.
I also don't have the delusion that posting changes people's minds, as if it were a form of propaganda or ideological warfare. In reality, people don't change their minds, especially not on political issues-- they go online in order to seek out reinforcement for them. This is not a partisan thing, everyone does this.
Having said that, Trump and the neocons are now writing a new chapter in the long list of disastrous failed wars with no chance of paying off, which they probably know by now (but don't care). American imperialism-- whether the original version, or the hip version for young people-- is a lose-lose process, for both parties. It's not a question of a cynical high IQ trade-off, where crimes are committed in order to gain control of some territory or resource which is strategically useful. Instead, hundreds of thousands get killed, billions are wasted, and it's all for nothing as all we do is lose-- a massive disaster for everyone involved, which should be opposed on every level, moral / humanitarian, economic, political, etc.
But retarded neocons and their masochist / fanatical cheerleaders can never admit to that, they'll just keep failing harder and harder, while dragging down the rest of society down with them.
*history, not list
DeleteIt's incredible how much braindead hype there is about tactical strikes, surprise attacks, and other forms of 'high IQ' warfare, when this stuff is decades old and already has a well-established track record of failure. Yet they insist on presenting it as new.
ReplyDeleteHow did air superiority work in Vietnam?
How did high IQ technology work against the Taliban?
How is all that working against the Houthis?
For that matter, look at WW2-- which nations were the most in favor of surprise attacks? The Germans and the Japanese: Operation Barbarossa and Pearl Harbor.
The Israelis are repeating the same mistakes as the Axis powers, scoring easy Ws at the beginning, due to having surprise on their side and fighting opponents that aren't prepared, but in the long run they're getting mired in a conflict which they don't have the resources to win.
Setting aside the question of whether the high IQ surprise TACTICAL STRIKES were successful, the logic behind them still makes no sense to me. They seem to be assuming that Iran is hellbent on getting nuclear weapons, so by bombing their facilities and assassinating their scientists, they are preventing them from getting nukes-- now the region is safe, no nukes in the hands of DaNgErOuS MoOsLiMs.
ReplyDeleteHowever in reality, the reason Iran doesn't have nukes is because their government doesn't want them, and has been willing to negotiate over the issue, repeatedly. It's not the behavior of a maniac who is willing to do anything to get his hands on a nuke, which he will then use to cause as much damage as possible, but rather a cautious, reasonable, strategy (too bad someone ripped up the treaty they signed, though).
By punishing Iran for working with the Israel & America, they are sending an important message to the future leaders of Iran: this is what happens when your government cooperates with the West. Your treaties get ripped up, your military and civilian leaders get assassinated, and then your population gets bombed. In other words, the consequences of working with America are the exact same as the consequences of working against it, with the only difference being that fighting the West at least has a chance of bringing some benefit. They are therefore incentivizing radicalism and militarism against the US, within Iran.
The examples of Pearl Harbor, or the massive success the Germans had early on during their invasion of the USSR, are examples of something Americans use to know (back in the good old days, when competent people were in charge): logistics win wars.
ReplyDeleteIn Israel's case, the more they enter into a long-term conflict with the Axis of Resistance, the more their economy will come under stress. Supply lines will be disrupted, services / work shut down, tools and equipment blown up, etc. Since they haven't fought a real war in 40+ years, they have no experience in this scenario.
This forces them to become entirely reliant on the US and the US dollar to save their economy and prop them up financially, which they already are to a very large extent anyways-- but the process will accelerate over time, the more they pursue their suicidal conflicts.
However, the US is already trillions in debt, and going through runaway inflation (which will only get worse). Plenty of powerful and influential nations are already starting to shift away from the dollar.
As the Israelis become dependent on America, they will need to spend more and more just to keep going-- but this will only weaken the power of the US dollar, creating more inflation / jacking up debt, and thus weakening its actual ability. So either they spend more and more, but wind up getting less and less (as the financial power of the dollar collapses) or they don't spend and then their economy collapses. They're trapped in a kind of doom-loop process, and are too addicted to conflict to realize that.
