RETVRN to 70s / 80s movies

Zoomers (and Millennials) whose parents never showed them 70s / 80s Hollywood, and who instead grew up on a diet of video games and CGI and now AI slop were aesthetically deprived of some of the coolest experiences out there, and should RETVRN before it's too late and their personality hardens into shape. It might be over for Millennials, who I can see raving about their favorite video games and simulators in their 50s and 60s, but Zoomers should make an effort to experience the classics before it's too late.

I'm very lucky my mom showed me a lot of them growing up, an experience I took for granted but turns out is really quite rare these days.

As a result of being exposed to actual art and entertainment, I've always found video games incredibly boring and awful. Yes, in theory, if done right they could be well-made works of art with good music and nice images-- but they almost never are. Instead it's just horrendous acting, boring plots, no music / soundtrack, and a 17+ hour commitment needed in order to finish them. Not to mention the sky high prices for new video games, unlike older movies which you can pick up at thrift stores for almost nothing.  The gayest medium imaginable, and unfortunately the average young person (under 40) is so deprived that that is all they've ever experienced-- don't let this be your fate!!

If you're not aware, essentially everything is done better than in modern movies. They're shot on film, with real backgrounds (not green screen), they're not infested with lame sPeCiAl eFfEcTs or CGI or other pointless crap, and the acting is mature and competent (as opposed to the wacky over-the-top stuff we have today). If you've only seen movies from the 2000s or the 2010s onwards, then-- and I'm not exaggerating when I say this-- you have no idea how a real movie looks, and what an experience it can be. Nothing like today's slop.

My advice is to start by watching Stars Wars, Jaws, and the first results under '70s / 80s classic movies' and then branch out from there into whatever genre you prefer.

  1. Online spaces and their sub-cultures are unfortunately run by ugly anti-social weirdos, which is why so little organic culture gets created these days. Not that online content was going to match the output of Hollywood (back when they made real movies) or whatever, but I mean in general how little of it is popular or appealing to the masses, or filters down into the broader society. It just doesn't get adopted, or go anywhere among normal people. And that's because the content itself is just not compelling, organic, or interesting, but rather more like a pointless tedious addiction they keep indulging in. If anything, anti-fun.

That's because these losers treat "fitting in", ie being liked, respected, and appreciated by others, as a grave moral sin, rather than a natural desire. So they compete over who can be the most out there, unnatural, disgusting, and repulsive. That's what the porno fetish references, or over-the-top racism, or whatever is for-- the content doesn't matter, it's part of a broader desire to pollute anything public, to taint it with aggressive ugliness and weirdness, so that it can't be enjoyed by the majority.

It's not just being neutral to the majority, or not fitting in / being socially marginal, it's being hostile to the in-group and going out of your way to offend them.

  2. After watching this guy on YT (https://www.youtube.com/@SyntheticMan), I must once again reiterate what I said about gaming and video games being the gayest / worst form of entertainment imaginable. I had no idea the situation was so bad, since I basically stopped following games after I was 15 or 16. Off-the-charts levels of AIDS.

Side-note: I don't watch a lot of anti-woke content, and mainly I find the whole badass based alpha male manly dude LARP annoying (same with the edgy racial humor and contempt for women), but I am willing to give them a chance compared to the other YT channels because they're at least willing to shit on the current slop, and tell the truth about how awful it is, rather than just slurp up garbage like a masochist because it aligns with them politically. If you want to see where I'm coming from, you can just sort by popular and watch his most viewed videos.

Anyways, what's really crazy to me is how much lecturing and scolding there is. They don't even bother with a coherent plot, but rather just use the game as an excuse to thunder down at the audience (who are 99% straight guys) about how evil they are, how they deserve to be punished / humiliated / replaced, muh toxic masculinity, etc etc etc. It's totally one-side anti-social hostility, and of course if any guy said the same thing but targeted at women or minorities or trannies they would immediately be banned. However, since the targets are straight guys and members of an enemy group (50% of the population), it's A-OK and even encouraged to spit on them, belittle them, savage them, or at least it's OK in the eyes of the insane woke degenerates who run the culture these days-- rules for me, but not for thee. Such bullshit.

And they're infecting and polluting the once escapist outlet these guys have left, which was hardly very masculine or alpha to begin with-- more of a time-sink for schlubby guys, now that all the good jobs are gone and more and more of the under-40 population is unemployed. Escape from the real world... to a virtual world where you get yelled at by some faggot and have to spend your time staring at horrifically ugly weirdos. All the more reason to consume older entertainment, and tune out of current garbage for good.

  3. I must also reiterate my opposition to trannies. I honestly admit that I thought they were fake / made-up-by-the-media / mythical creatures, possibly the result of left-wingers exaggerating their degeneracy for shock value (as well as right-wingers exaggerating it in order to complain about the fall of the West or whatever)-- but no, they actually exist, they're real. And American culture has become so sick and mentally ill that it worships and elevates these types.

    A couple observations--

They seem very geeky / wordcel-ey (high verbal IQ). At least the ones I've seen in real life all seemed like they came from the nerd sub-population of guys, not feminine at all in their interests, communication style, hobbies, and just general attitude and disposition. There does seem to be a sub-group who are athletes, in which case they're so misogynistic that they want to violently beat up women, and disguise themselves in order to do so (disgusting, and deserving of the death penalty). However the majority seem to be of the Reddit / nerd variety.

They're profoundly mentally ill of course, since we're talking about a guy who thinks he's a woman-- although I doubt that deep down most of them do. Now that I have some insight into the way they think, I think that's more of a shock performance / middle-finger to everyone else thing, some kind of degenerate power fantasy, and that deep down they know they're guys. This kind of person would get sent to a mental institution in a normal society, but unfortunately those have all been shut down / de-funded here in America, and now dealing with the mentally ill is just another part of daily life, with the added twist that they hold all the cards and anyone who doesn't go along and indulge their delusions faces severe punishment. Again, sick culture.

Obsessed with revenge fantasies, overflowing with seething hatred, using their VICTIM / I WAS ABUSED card as a pass in order to indulge in corrosive anti-social behavior / launch witch-hunts and crusades, controlling and manipulative... as everyone knows by now. Revenge fantasies seem to be a basic part of the Reddit sperg mind-set, reflecting stunted social-emotional development, so I guess it's no surprise that the most Reddit 'people' are basically defined by them.

I've said this before, but there's basically 0 overlap between how women think and how trannies think (thank God). If you're more empathetic or aware than the average guy, or you just like being around women / being friends with women, it's pretty obvious-- yes, even on the Internet.

  4. Speaking of degeneracy, the whole Hunter Biden situation (I never cared about the laptop story, but I mean the case in general) is an example of how our parasitic elites have come to physically resemble the bums and homeless at the bottom of the societal totem pole, rather than the leaders of the 'greatest nation on Earth' or richest country in the world or whatever. He's certainly not the only one either, but the most prominent one.

(And to his credit, he's at least open about his lifestyle, rather than trying to keep the whole thing under wraps while pretending to be morally superior or whatever.)

Despite coming from radically different backgrounds, what both groups have in common is that they don't do any productive work. In our elite's case, they've hollowed out the entire economy and society. Whatever happens, they win (heads I win, tails you lose, as Nassim Taleb says).

But the irony of this situation is that in their quest to melt down the entire society, they've destroyed their own lives, too, depriving themselves of the sense of purpose and accomplishment that comes from engaging in real honest work.

The drugs, alcoholism, and other forms of self-stimulation are there to fill the void in their lives.

    ReplyDelete
  5. His physical appearance is a good example of why you should avoid drugs / artificial substances.

Hollow dead eyes (from all the self-stimulation), hair and skin and teeth that are decomposing prematurely... he easily looks 20-30 years older than his real age.

All forms of addictions, whether to porn, drugs, alcohol, or what have you, serve to shift your focus away from other people and towards yourself. When taken to the extreme, you stop looking and behaving like a real human being and instead just become an empty husk that only exists in order to survive long enough for the next dopamine injection.

  6. Having said that, he could make great content if he came out and started discussing some of the wilder / degenerate stories, humbling himself and providing an honest look at how life is these days-- that would actually go somewhere.

The only content I take seriously these days is if the creator starts off by admitting how fucked up our society is. I don't mean in an angry / seething in resentment / bitter social reject way, I mean just being blunt and honest about the state of things. Anyone who starts off by pretending that they're making amazing progress, are part of some dynamic / thriving social group, love their life, look how great things are etc etc-- STFU, and stop trying to sell us lies, as if we can't see what's happening.

Everyone these days-- regardless of age, race, gender, generation, whatever-- is equally socially isolated, and coping with it through various substitutes and replacements for the real thing. The main difference is in the different coping mechanisms they're using, how degenerate they are, to what degree, etc, but enough with pretending to be some miraculous exception to the rule.

    ReplyDelete
  7. It's amazing to see how great older movies look, compared to the CGI / green-screen trend that started around the 2000s. By now they're taking it a step further by introducing AI, so we can assume that it'll be even worse than what it is now.

I've always hated CGI garbage, even as a kid, and I think it looks bizarre / uncanny valley.

They're working overtime to eradicate all the beauty, craftsmanship, skill, and thrill / sense of fun from American and therefore world culture, so that the audiences who are exposed to this slop never develop real taste. By the time they mature, and can choose what to watch, it'll be too late and they'll be already be poisoned.

Now that people who are dead inside produce and consume movies, shows, etc all they do is churn out endless dumb slop. And because of how thoroughly they've been brainwashed, they're actually hostile to the things that are signs of quality!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Whenever I browse discussions of movies on Reddit or Twitter or YT (video essays), they always make sure to add, when they reluctantly praise an older movie, 'This movie still looks great, despite the special effects / primitive techniques / backwards methods of the bad old days'.

They're assuming, as part of their world view, that the movies of the past were inferior, but somehow miraculously managed to overcome those limitations, as opposed to today's superior productions with their more sophisticated techniques.

However, and as usual, the truth is the opposite: the stuff that was made by hand, on location and on film, with models designed by skilled craftsmen, looks amazing and timeless.

What's not timeless, and instantly looks 'So early 2000s' or 'So lame' or 'What were we thinking', is the CGI slop. CGI products degrade very quickly, and really they only look good due to the novelty of 'OMG new'-- once the excitement fades away, even the fanboys have to admit they look bad, which is why the handful who defend them always appeal to nostalgia rather than quality (like they're doing with the Star Wars prequels).

    ReplyDelete
  9. One good example was the Nosferatu remake they did recently. I didn't watch the whole movie, cuz it sucked and it was some kind of rape / cuck fantasy, but the most amazing thing is that the movie from the 70s had better lighting and cinematography and more striking shots / better atmosphere than the one from the 2020s!

Or maybe not so amazing, and to be expected at this point, but still shocking to see how badly they've fallen off. It's like nobody knows how to do anything anymore. And of course they worse they get at their jobs, the more they praise themselves.

The entire 2020 version was all shot in one dull shade of grey, except for the 'horror' scenes-- those were shot in total darkness, meaning you *literally* couldn't see anything. The people who made the movie apparently thought that dark tone = dark. And the fanboys slurped it right up!

There was one time in the first hour or so when the director accidentally came up with something interesting to look at, at which point everyone on Reddit orgasmed and upvoted and said OMG THIS IS CINEMA!!!!!!!... but then they went right back to oatmeal for normal scenes and pitch black for horror scenes. Wouldn't want to make anything to cool hehe, we're Millennial Redditors hehe...

Like I said, they are allergic to the things that are good and in favor of the things that are bad.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Here's a comparison of the different versions, on YT:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2mmlIe8u4M

Look at all the pathetic fanboys and slop enthusiasts assembled in the comments section, all desperately coping about how 'They're all special in their own ways' and 'Wow it was great' and so on.

Meanwhile the few comments pointing out the truth, that the emperor is wearing no clothes, that 70s version is straight-up BETTER and SUPERIOR across the board, are either down-voted to oblivion or hidden at the bottom. The poor midwits are too weak to handle criticism.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Another super-Millennial thing too (which has unfortunately infected Zoomers, but hopefully not as many of them), is dialing up their facial expressions to the max.

Since I don't watch new movies or shows much, the first time I noticed this was when I was watching Game of Thrones, so I blamed them-- but I guess it precedes that show.

The problem with super-long and super intense facial expressions is that making them requires using muscles, and our body want to conserve energy. That's why real life facial expressions are usually brief, lasting a few seconds, and dialed down. And so the more dialed up, extreme, long-lasting the faces the actors make, the faker they are since nobody, except for maybe politicians, spends that much effort smiling or looking surprised or laughing or whatever. It breaks immersion.

This is why, when you're talking with a close friend you trust, you usually have a faint or restrained smile and a relaxed posture, whereas when you're dealing with fake 'friends' and 'bros' and 'buddies' (in business, academia, work) it's the opposite-- everyone is as loud and grinning as possible. The more effusive people are to your face, the less they trust you and the more insulting / disrespectful they are behind your back, which is why this stuff is characteristic of environments where everyone is competing with everyone else. Loud / over-the-top = fake.

Or, to give another example, why, in sports, fake injuries are accompanied by loud cries of pain, sprawling around, etc-- but real injuries don't result in much extra motion at all. You feel concern seeing someone quietly grimace in pain, whereas you feel nothing watching some retard flop around all over the place.

And yes I am aware that it's a movie. I'm not against exaggerating for the sake of drama. The problem is that when everyone does it, it ironically comes across as the opposite of the super-serious tone they're going for-- it's funny, and they even look a little retarded contorting their faces like that.

Another part of the problem is that, aside from the demand for emo stuff, nobody socializes IRL anymore, so the audiences have to rely on the equivalent of flash cards being beamed at them in order to notice what's going on, like a bunch of 5 yr olds. 'That's FEAR, the man is feeling FEAR, see the man feel FEAR'.

The acting in older movies was more restrained, and therefore more natural, and they didn't treat you like a special needs student.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I've discussed this before, but the dialogue for most 'serious' movies becoming Game of Thrones-tier rape fantasies and badass LARP is also pathetic and unintentionally hilarious. This is another syndrome that is widespread these days, and especially with Millennials. They all see themselves as Ultimate Badass Avengers and Alpha Males (even when they're really retards who would fold under zero pressure, and don't know how to do anything).

Naturally they demand entertainers that speak to their insecurities, and that has led to some of the cringiest / anti-masculine characters in the history of movies.

As with facial expressions, they are too immature to realize that being humble and reserved correlates with being strong-- whereas all this tawking and tawking and revenge LARPing is a glaring sign of weakness and emotional fragility.

That's why if you look at the heroes of the famous Westerns, they were typically the strong silent / reserved type. The guys who were shown as bluffing and incompetent, and who typically got killed in the first 20 or 30 mins, were the loudmouth types.

They understood that back then, and made it clear which type was superior. We've lost that knowledge, and now we have a society filled with bluffers, scammers, and talkers.

  13. I think another reason why everyone is so insecure about their aLpHa mAlE sTaTs is that more and more dudes are going to college, and almost nobody does manual labor anymore. Manual labor and the grunt-type entry jobs are seen in many parts of the West as 'something that immigrants do' or 'something that low status types do' rather than honest work, good for your character, etc.

This is a very shameful, decadent, view, and as a result now we have a shortage of welders, carpenters, and skilled tradesmen (which they're trying to fix by importing endless immigrants).

Manual labor is liberating, especially for guys, because it's one of the few types of work that has a minimal verbal component. Plus all your energy and attention is focused externally, on the work you're doing. It's a break or a release from your individual private thoughts, obsessions, insecurities, etc.

Height and weight and muscle are for the most part ultimately irrelevant, too. The vast majority of physical jobs can be done well by people who are completely average on all of those metrics. You don't need to be some kind of super-alpha to succeed. It's not the NFL or the Special Forces.

Rather it's more of a question of effort, dedication, experience, attention to detail, being a good team player, and other traits and qualities like that. Those are the things that have gone missing, vanished, declined-- not muscles or height or dominance or alpha status.

  14. In fairness, though, a lot of adults in America also have a very anti-social attitude where they just view themselves as superior to young people, and treat them with disdain / contempt. Naturally young people reciprocate by dismissing everything they say, and then you get a situation where all the generations are at war with each other and all kinds of useful skills and attitudes don't get passed down, and are instead flushed down the drain.

It's really bad when they've been doing something for 20-30 yrs, whereas you (being young) have no experience, but instead of trying to teach you something like a responsible adult, they turn that into some kind of scolding lecture, as if it's your fault, while not teaching you or providing you with anything so you always stay on square one. Just pathetic gatekeeping.

We have a dire shortage of role models, responsible adults, maintainers, and contributors-- so much of the society is just made up of scammers, haters, rent-seekers, shoulder-shruggers, egoists, etc. And they're very smug and open about their behavior, instead of hiding it.

You don't have to get angry with those people necessarily, but just remember to ignore them, tune them out, and don't listen to them or follow their orders until they start behaving correctly. Today's authority figures (and a good deal of adults in the society) are useless, blind, parasitic, and even hostile to the people they're supposed to be taking care of-- they don't deserve anything.

    ReplyDelete
  15. American society in the 2020s--

The students sit there in silence, while the teacher yells at them about toxic masculinity.

The bus is late (assuming it shows up at all) and the bus driver is mad at at the people waiting.

Corporations withdraw from society, and the average worker has to make up the difference by working twice as hard.

Politicians sell out their own people, and then thunder down about the American way, patriotism, obedience, loyalty, the flag, etc etc etc.

Remember not to take this massive Ponzi scheme too seriously, and even act to accelerate its collapse if you can.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Everyone knows that there are different personalities, and some people are good at writing and explaining themselves but can't notice things while others are the opposite.

I'm not against those types, I spend a lot of my time writing, and nor do I look down on that kind of work because "It's not profitable" or "It's not math". I'm in favor of things like linguistics, poetry / literature, philosophy, etc. It's good to have culture in society, rather than being constantly absorbed with whatever NEW THING is popular.

The problem is that what we have now is a mixture of the worst parts of both fields. There's the verbosity and tediousness of the worst aspects of philosophy, which you see in podcasts and the media in general: endless words, and no depth whatsoever, just rambling on and on and on and on for the sake of filling up space and sounding clever. It's all totally pointless.

Since the insecure retards also like to LARP as genius scientists, Teslas and Einsteins and so on, they also have to drag in some math, to back up their idiotic views-- and that's where the real sophistry starts. What they do is just sheer manipulation, taking statistics out of their context in order to prevent the illusion of a win or an advance (when we're going advancing backwards, in almost everything), using fancy graphs and terminology to dress up retarded not-even-wrong-tier observations as being Earth-shaking discoveries ('big data'), investing massive amounts of money and effort just to break even at best (AI) and other forms of obfuscation and retardedness.

All of this has led to a new kind of Dark Age, where nobody knows anything and since everyone is aware that all the big journals and scientists are lying / clueless, nobody is really sure what or who to believe precisely.

Because they weaponized math and science and sTuDiEs, too, that new Dark Age extends to those areas. Before people were fine with dismissing some Freudian nutjob, but now nobody believes even the people who are supposed to be Real Experts in Hard Subjects. And that's not the fault of the people-- the experts have demonstrated, with one failure after another, that they are worth trusting.

And the new cohort of total failures aren't even humble-- they have way more hubris and arrogance than the previous generation, but they've accomplished nothing. Somehow the actual accomplishers, builders, discoverers, and so on never stooped to the level of constantly jerking themselves off all day, everyday, like these morons do.

The only change in that respect is that they've gone from smug confidence (back in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and into the 2010s) to desperate coping and lashing out at their enemies, now that the entire Ponzi scheme is falling apart.

That's where the bitter slander comes in-- 'low status white males', 'conspiracy theorist', and so on.

That's why, even though-- not praising myself, just being honest-- a lot of people have told me that I'm smart, I don't have a college degree. The whole thing feels like some kind of Mean Girls clique, but they're sadly unaware that they're closer to special needs students and 7 yr olds than to real adults. There might be some exception here or there, but they're few and far between, so I figure it's better to just wait the whole thing out and let it all fall apart, and then rebuild from there (if that's possible).

    ReplyDelete
  17. When people who are "disenfranchised" or "crazy" like me complain about widespread ignorance, backwardness, and so on, it's not because I think that most people should have a degree in theoretical physics or whatever.

It's not because I think people should know the answer to a question like, 'In what year did the Battle of Thermopylae take place?'

Of course it would be nice to have more people who are knowledgeable in esoteric subjects, or who know a lot of facts, but that's not the heart of the matter.

It's more like the ability to solve complex problems, use intuition, do things simply, and so on has disappeared.

It's funny because Americans used to be known for the exact opposite.

The French or the Germans would sperg out, and then they would write a 7,000 page tome in order to prove that 'Not all cultures are the same' or 'Everything in your life is the result of wanting to fuck your mother'. And at the end of all that tremendous intellectual trip to nowhere they would pat themselves on the shoulder for it, like it was some great accomplishment.

Meanwhile the 'ignorant' and 'backwards' and 'culture-less' Americans could land on the Moon, create a middle class paradise economy of owners and producers produce great culture, win world wars, and so on.

Now we're supposed to be so clever and so so sophisticated and so so so advanced compared to the past, and yet we can't even build infrastructure or do things on time, you expect everything to be broken and are always right, the economy is made up of a permanent class of renters and consumers, we spend more and more and get less and less, and so on and so forth.

    It's demoralizing, and enraging.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I also defend women somewhat, at least compared to the average right-wing guy.

This is not because I'm really some kind of radical feminist in disguise or whatever. I hate the woke stuff, I think it's retarded, have always been against it, and hopefully they get wiped out by the well-deserved backlash now taking place.

It's simply because the alt-right types can't think two steps ahead.

They always say men build society, men are smarter than women, men accomplish more, etc. Fine-- I agree with that, those things are true. Men are the ones responsible for the big roles in society, women focus more on the kids or on taking on a nurturing role.

But then if men are the ones responsible for running society, why is society such a mess?

In order to explain that they'd have to admit that today's guys, even the straight white ones, are worse than their predecessors. They are way less competent, and way more arrogant, decadent, and dishonest, which is why the society they've made looks like it was designed by a 7 yr old and is awful to live in.

In order to achieve 'decent' and 'functional' and 'normal', a lot of them would have to humble themselves, stop lying to themselves all the time, quit their addictions, and fix things (or at the very least rise to the level of not breaking them).

But that contradicts the main goal of most political "movements" these days-- coping, not fixing things. Everyone is too cynical to really believe change is possible. So the whole thing is just a giant game of trying to shift the blame onto as many external enemies as possible, for both sides.

If you can't accept blame, or cope with reality, you can have all the muscles and all the IQ you want-- you are pathetic, retarded, and spineless.

    ReplyDelete
  19. One last example in order to illustrate my point a little bit better: take the controversial and much fought over subject of diets, nutrition, etc.

We had a society where people ate a certain way (say, the 70s). The vast majority of the population was healthy and thin. You can look at the statistics, watch movies, look at family photos, etc.

Now we have a society, in the 2020s, where everyone is unhealthy, obese, pre-diabetic, and all kinds of problems that used to be rare are becoming widespread, and so on and so forth.

So what would a humble, non-retarded, person conclude just from looking at those things?

They would tell you that the system we had during the 70s was better, because the outcome was superior. So if your goal is a healthy population, you should do things the way they did, and obviously ignore anything the experts from the 2020s tell you to do-- their failures, such as creating a country where there are more sick people than healthy people, prove that their methods and theories are worthless.

It's not that I'm saying 'The past was always better than the present'. That's an accusation that the cult members make, but they're always projecting their own blind unquestioning worship of fake non-Progress. It's that the society that delivers a better outcome is better, and the one to imitate.

Instead of making up ideas like 'This is BAD' and 'This is GOOD', just judge things by what they're designed to do or are trying to do. Nutrition, dietary experts and guidelines, they're there to create a healthy population-- so judge them according to that standard.

Of course you'll never find awareness of that, though, because what the morons do is refuse to examine things from the broader perspective, and especially from a neutral / academic / non-emotional angle. Instead they turn everything into a micro-debate, and then dial up the emotional intensity to apocalyptic levels, which prevents them from ever understanding anything and allows them to indulge in their I'm a Better Person because I do things in the Modern Good Way unlike the Bad Old Ways coping.

Then when their expertise and leadership results in an absurd situation like now, where more and more people are fed poisonous chemical slop, they can't even admit the truth.

So the decline is not just in terms of disappearing techniques, loss of knowledge, lack of expertise, but also widespread arrogance, hubris, and delusion coming from the bitter inferior people / experts of the present, compared to the past.

    ReplyDelete
  20. For all their posturing, these current experts are more similar in spirit to the jihadists from the Gulf States, or their European counterparts in Ukraine, than they are to anyone remotely intelligent, open to information, competent etc.

Rigidly closed off, puritanical, obsessed with punishing the sinful masses of conspiracy theorists & low status / low IQ types and other latter-day heretics, unwilling to compromise or show any doubt (doubt = weakness, in their eyes), suicidal / fanatic even when facing obvious defeat or exposed as ignorant, and so on and so forth.

  21. And the same goes for their cult-like followers.

Reddit is basically a Mecca of conformity, where the users compete over who can agree with everyone else the hardest. And the forum they do it on is simply a gathering of people who are all united in sharing the same belief system or interests as all the other forum members. Cult behavior!

Naturally what they produce is all going to be incestuous, circle-jerk, witch-hunting nonsense, not open-minded, insightful, or tolerant.

  22. That's about it for the rant.

I just wanted to say, at the end— for whoever is reading this, I'm grateful to you for stopping by and I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to talk about these things. It's nice to have an outlet for my thoughts, and know that at least a few people appreciate them or resonate with them.

You might think I'm crazy, or that I must be completely unhinged IRL, ready to burn down the whole world, but it's really the opposite. Having an outlet for my thoughts allows me to be quite calm and laid back, in the face of an increasingly dysfunctional / chaotic society.

I refuse to take my meds-- it's the other people who are crazy!

  23. I posted this posted on Rintrah's site, but then all the older posts got deleted / hidden / removed, but one of my great-grandparents (Greatest Gen.) was a carpenter and another was a doctor. Real hands on professions, but also requiring some type of knowledge / expertise unlike being a cashier or something like that.

Even after the multi-generational college degree inflation process got started, only one of my grandparents went to college-- and he focused on biology, and worked in nature conservation.

Biology is cool because it requires some math (so not as prone to bullshit) but it's also very connected to the real world, so it's not as brain-breaking to study or apply.

And conserving natural systems requires being real smart, as opposed to fake clever-silly intelligence. As in for example if some invasive species is fucking things up, you can't just eradicate it by introducing another species that hunts it, like you would in a game of Pokemon-- there will be 2nd-order effects, and so on, and that forces you to think carefully about what you do and be humble and cautious, rather than go in and blow the entire thing.

Or, as everyone knows, if there hasn't been a massive forest fire for X years, it's not because we're so wonderful and amazing and advanced that we cured fire-- it's actually a bad sign, a warning sign, and you should prepare for a far more intense disaster when it does happen (which it will eventually).

  24. This is basically the opposite of the people we have now, who are junkies and addicts.

Junkies and addicts obsess over their addictions at the expense of their personal health. They then keep and keep and keep away at it, until either (a) the whole thing breaks down, and the addiction kills them or (b) the whole thing breaks down, but they manage to survive, and then recover-- but since a tremendous amount of damage has been done throughout the addiction, the recovery means going back to a level that's lower than where you started out, maybe permanently, meaning it would have been wiser not to get addicted in the first place.

However the retards are seduced by the apparent benefits of whatever it is they're addicted to. Steroids make you stronger / manlier-looking, or this kind of drug makes you feel happy-- 2000% more strength or happiness, and for free, no need to work on myself or change my lifestyle!

Except, of course, it's not "free" and there is no such thing as "free".

They can't understand that things are all connected to each other (in any complex system). You can't just isolate one factor, dial that up by 3000%, and then think everything else will keep on going the same way as it was before. No, there will be 2nd-order effects, consequences, reactions, all kinds of unforeseen developments and problems-- and the longer those take to appear, the worse it'll be when they actually show up (see the forest fire example). This is why you have to be cautious, and ideally keep the number of artificial interventions to a minimum or as close to zero as possible.

That's also why someone who is on no drugs, and temporarily feels anxiety or sadness or nostalgia, is stronger than someone who never feels those emotions but needs a cocktail of substances to maintain that state. It's artificial and thus creates dependence on external interventions, harmful in the long run due to all kinds of side-effects, and unsustainable because you require more and more drugs or medications just to maintain the same "stability".

Or why when you create trillions of dollars out of nowhere, and then only hand them out to your buddies, it doesn't mean you get rich free and everyone else just goes along with it and is fine with it. Now you have angry people assassinating their leaders, record inflation, populist / anti-establishment parties springing up all over the place in the West, a loss of faith in the economy and political system (nobody trusts something that's obviously broken), the entire economy being dependent on fake money for "growth" precisely as we're dealing with spiraling inflation and debt, and so on and so forth. Massive issues that didn't exist decades ago, but which we all have to deal with because of these policies.

And solving them, restoring faith in the broken political / economic system, withdrawing the trillions of fake dollars, shifting the economy from fake to real work, is extremely difficult-- almost impossible-- given how long the addiction has gone on. It would require a tremendous effort, but the problem is that all those reserves (money, trust, etc) have been depleted.

So the most likely outcome is that the whole thing will just collapse, break down, etc like I said above and then it'll have to be rebuilt, but on a much smaller scale than before.

  25. If you look at the cLiMAte sCieNtIsTs a lot of them seen to cluster with the retards / addicts, not the smart people, which is why I dismiss the whole movement.

For one, it's striking how little of a connection most of them have with nature. They don't really seem to understand a whole lot about a field like ecology or biology, nor do they seem interested in their local environments. It's all this global, distorted, totally removed perspective.

They tend to be leftists living in major cities, not rural people. And not just big cities, but New York, LA, SF, London, etc-- the most hyper-capitalist places on the planet.

Given how much science has already been exposed as being a total scam, I doubt a very recent ideology like this is any different-- probably even worse.

Ideologically, climate science looks like a passive aggressive / gay version of austerity, trying to justify the neo-Gilded Age and the dismantling of 1st world economies by greedy oligarchs, the super-rich, corporations, etc. The declining standard of living, where decent food (meat) is increasingly unaffordable, good jobs disappear so young people don't have kids, and so on is presented as 'the simple life' and 'you'll own nothing, etc'.

The way it works is that a factory starts off in Britain or France, where it contributes to pollution / emissions. Then it gets removed from there, causing emissions to fall. That makes the environmentalists happy, and they say, 'We're making progress.'

However it doesn't just disappear off the face of the Earth, all those factories are re-built in the form of sweatshops in 3rd world countries like China, India, Honduras, etc. They're still polluting, so global emissions rise (no regulations in the 3rd world), and so the climate activists go, 'There's still work to be done, the problem is getting worse.'

But instead of going after the sweatshops, and the global corporations responsible for them, they re-direct their anger at the de-industrialized working and middle classes in the West by trying to strip them of even more of their comforts. The kinds of laws they create are useless at best (going after symptoms, not the disease) or actively harmful and spiteful, trying to take even more from people who are barely making it in the first place because they're in austerity mode.

The climate activists always inconvenience normal people and they always attack totally irrelevant targets, like museums and paintings-- they never confront the elites, the powerful, the rich, etc, nor do they call for punishment in the form of higher taxes.

Fucking up normal people's lives, while claiming to be in favor of radical change, and being totally supported by and compatible with the ruling elite-- sounds like the Euro version of the BLM movement.

  26. I guess some of them are just that stupid, where they just can't see how reality works.

I suspect a lot of it is just typical leftist grifting, working in concert with the private sector (while LARPing as being against it).

What they do is claim to solve some problem or 'we just want to help', but it really turns out to be a huge pipeline to boost employment for retarded morons with unemployable fake college degrees, in order to set up a massive bureaucratic scam, which then gets paid for by the public.

They never solve the problem, of course, because that would put them out of work, it's all done so that these people can get cushy managerial jobs and salaries, plus the prestige of pretending to work on something important, while not actually doing anything.

This is like the homeless industrial complex, which most people are aware of by now.

Or the NGOs who are there to boost immigration (help the private sector get cheap labor), but receive government because they "help the needy". The more immigrants they bring in, the more they're helping, therefore the more they can expand.

  27. You hear complaints about young people wanting to be famous on TikTok, or become Twitch streamers, or how they study useless esoteric subjects when they go to college-- but really that's more of a minor issue. It's better for the societal ecosystem to have failed artists, or failed entertainers, or curious but useless people who will adopt to working class jobs or drift around (or dedicate themselves to something that's still artistic or interesting, but on a smaller level) than it is to have tremendous amounts of wannabe managers, grifters, and scammers like we do now.

These are the people who get college degrees in Communications, who don't have any passion for anything, and who all merge together into a collective blob. The HR-type people, basically.

The wannabe managers don't solve existing problems, and they're too full of themselves to admit to being mediocre and redundant and start working instead as cashiers, carpenters, plumbers, etc. So what they do is find a sector to infect, and since most of the big ones are already taken, they increasingly disrupt the very basic things, where all they do is specialize in providing incredibly expensive, time-consuming, and counter-productive managerial "solutions".

Then they demand unlimited and ever-increasing government funding to "keep working on the problem" which somehow only gets worse, it never gets fixed (and never will, under their direction) which means more funding is needed to "keep working" and "keep working". Do this for a decade, and you wind up where we are now-- soaring government spending, while the public gets absolutely nothing out of it.

Spending more to get less, in the public sector, and paying more to get less, in the private sector. Both of the neoliberal parties are equally worthless, just different flavors of the same garbage.

  28. The whole thing reminds me of when Trump and his voters raised hell over the off-shoring of American manufacturing, back during the 2016 campaign.

Naturally the based GOP / Republican leadership took a good hard look at the problem, and they came to the natural, sensible, and intelligent conclusion.

They didn't bring back a single job, re-build a single factory, or anything like that-- but they did slap a good ol' American flag on their useless made-in-China overpriced garbage. To show their voters that y'know, this truck may be made in Shangai or wherever, but it's designed by REAL BASED PATRIOTS who hate communist CHYNA. Yeah thanks, sure thing.

Environmentalist policies are the same, but catering to the retarded and corrupt left half of the elite instead of their equivalents on the right.

So they shut down a real factory making real products in Britain or America or France, and re-build it in the form of a sweatshop making garbage in China (or India, Vietnam, etc) complete with super-expensive over-stretched supply lines and zero regulations including environmental laws, but they make sure that the product complies with some random environmental policy, really more of a technicality, so it's UM ACKSHUALLY 30% more sustainable when seen from that perspective, even if when you look at the whole process from the broader view, it is the WORST system for the environment.

Then they slap a pro-environment logo on the box, or put some green symbol on the product itself, and everyone is happy.

And the broader message, from both sides, is-- we hear your complaints, and understand you're angry, and we're going to respond by not changing a single thing except for offering some minor totally fake counter-productive rEForMs, and we expect you to gratefully and promptly and obediently drink that garbage right up, and not ask any questions.

  29. They've also made sure to dial up the racism against Chinese people by 20-30%, on their podcasts and on Twitter and even in their official remarks, as if anyone in America cares about being racist online, or thinks of that as some kind of policy win, while we continue to get screwed by greedy corporations.

The Chinese government and the Chinese people are just the middle men. They benefit from having the factories there, since that brings a ton of wealth into their country, but aren't the ones responsible for the situation, and so blaming them is just a way of getting some pent-up anger out, while conveniently avoiding making real changes or going after those responsible.

Likewise, the environmentalists are just domestic middle-men. They are piggy-backing on the off-shoring / looting bonanza that's taken place, going along with and surrendering to the whole thing rather than fighting it, but creating a handful of useless laws and regulations, mainly so they can extract some money out of the whole thing and carve out positions of influence from which they can lecture everyone else.

This is why, as we've seen, they actually vote with and align themselves with greedy corporations, when push comes to shove.

It's also why they're completely absent among working class voters in the Rust Belt or formerly-industrial cities in the North of England, but massively over-represented when you look at the managerial elite in global capitals like London, NY, Paris, etc.

They're a more insidious kind of enemy, since they pretend to be reformists (unlike the greedy corporations), but they're hardcore supporters of the whole rotten system-- and so any movement looking to actually change things must distance itself from them.

  30. Just to clarify, I'm talking about the Green movement and leadership, the rADiCaLs, Young People (TM) Taking Action (TM), and so on-- that's all a scam, and they're the ones who need to be kicked out of the left.

In general, if it has that unique stench of being pro-austerity, elitist, shrill, scolding, spiritual hall monitors, etc. If it seems more Hillary than Bernie, then it's probably just neoliberal garbage.

I've met naturalists and pro-environment people in real life, one of my grandparents was like that (as discussed above), and they're good people. They're usually liberals, but from the decent / reasonable / good side of the left.

Taking care of the actually existing environment (as opposed to The Environment) involves real skills, and usually a certain measure of humility. They don't appoint themselves leaders or rather hall monitors of the whole world, they don't endlessly lecture and scold and inconvenience normal people, and they aren't callous / neglectful / super-wasteful in their own behavior (as opposed to The Greens, who are too busy pursuing Higher Goals to care about their own personal conduct).

The two types appear similar due to sharing the same ideological space, but when you look into it further they're actually quite distinct and rarely overlap.

  31. If you look at the collapse of the Roman Empire, its major offices and institutions didn't just vanish overnight and nor was there one moment where the word COLLAPSE was written across the sky, everything immediately ended, etc. That is the short-term limited POV.

(These are the same people who oscillate between thinking that China is about to conquer the whole world or collapse in the next five years, who tell you that Russia is on the verge of bankruptcy or about to invade France, etc etc etc.)

However after a couple centuries, and after endless wasteful civil wars, doomed military campaigns, economic hyper-inflation, the abandonment of urban areas, pointless internal conflicts among the elites, all of those Roman symbols and offices and institutions gradually became fake, symbols belonging to a previous era, real in the past but more of a theatrical empty gesture for theater kids in the present, not than the embodiment of concentrated power and authority.

Their rulers and authority figures went from sober and powerful and accomplished to screeching and impotent and failing, just like they have here.

The last of them was unceremoniously deposed by the invading barbarians, and even allowed to live out the rest of his life, since he was essentially just a man in a costume. He was the first Roman LARPer.

I believe something similar will happen in the West, as The Science, Democracy, and all the other big institutions crumble internally and are revealed to be incapable of doing their jobs, fraudulent, hostile to the public, etc. Right now they still enjoy a certain degree of trust and authority and influence, as well as a lot of wealth and power, but they will become more and more impotent and irrelevant (especially for future generations) now that the reality is starting to sink in.

The Science is really more and more of a game, a kind of incestuous decadent inside joke which all of the participants know is fake, but where they entertain themselves with their graphs and their studies, while of course figuring out nothing, going nowhere, etc. As unthinkable as it may sound today, I can imagine a future where this stuff occupies the same section of the newspaper as the horoscopes, and is treated accordingly by the adults of these future societies.

We can scoff at previous eras for wholeheartedly believing in things like Christianity, enlightened rulers, the divine right of kings, and so on-- but Americans and Westerners are on a similar path, just with their own versions of those things.
