I've railed against these people before, and it's not that I think IQ is fake, or that it's not real, or that it doesn't correlate with anything.
A lot of this stuff seems to have started back in the 90s, when the cONtRoVeRSial research on racial differences in intelligence got started, but it seems like a lot of its supporters have forgotten that this 'ground-breaking' stuff is almost 30 years old at this point.
Yes, we get it, whites are smarter than browns, and upper-class whites are smarter than working-class whites. Shocking discoveries-- but fortunately we have the geniuses around to enlighten us on these issues.
Believe it or not, some people had also figured these truths out before the 90s, and using their own unique methods. However, autistic people will never understand empathy or intuition, so they always have to articulate and explain with reason what other people just do instinctively, which means it takes them forever to learn the basic facts that make up a normal person's instinctive, unconscious, knowledge or awareness of the world, such as X people do this, or Y people are like that, etc.
The problem lies not so much IQ as a metric itself, but rather with the copers or fetishists on social media. What they do is perform a sleight of hand, where their score suddenly becomes a great and wonderful achievement in and of itself, rather than just an indication of potential.
This is a mixture of 'everyone gets a trophy' and 'get out of jail free'.
They don't have to use their brains to be insightful, or learn anything about any subject, or acquire useful skills and regularly apply their knowledge in order to prove their intelligence. No, it's more like they try and make the fact that they have this high score automatically grant them genius status, and then they try to force everyone else to take them seriously because of that.
They don't understand that a bird in hand is worth two in the bush-- a person with medium IQ who is actually knowledgeable, and who is capable of using that knowledge for something good or productive is smarter in the real-world sense than a potential-but-not-actual genius who doesn't know anything and isn't capable of doing anything, or is even destined to fail (from sheer ignorance, lack of experience or training, etc).
The current bunch of tech-scammers are a good example of that kind of arrogant 'potential genius', accomplishing nothing (and doing that with other people's money) or even pulling scams, while also constantly patting themselves on the back for their cleverness.
This obsession usually overlaps with genetic coping and genetic copers, who also do the exact same thing. This is the 'muh ancestors' crowd / LARPers. What they do is say-- 'I'm X, and previous generations of my people did this or that'.
Meanwhile they've never done anything noteworthy, but they come from illustrious and impressive ancestors, which means their present-day actual mediocrity or retardedness is actually really superiority, and all without having to do anything in real life to back that up!
This is the typical syndrome of taking a tool and fetishizing it / obsessing over it so much that you forget that the tools is meant to help you do something or accomplish something rather than be an end in and of itself.
Superiority and intelligence are all demonstrated in the real world, through actual accomplishments or discoveries or impressive creations or conquests or whatever, not through unrealized possibilities or potentiality or 'ifs' and 'maybes' and so on.
And of course, if you're retarded and you accomplish and produce nothing or even fuck things up, then it's totally irrelevant who your ancestors are or what your IQ score is, since we have a much more direct and easy way to measure your worth (or worthlessness) than DNA or IQ.
The discourse on the Internet around these subjects is simply a way for these people to give themselves another trophy and then collectively celebrate their mediocrity, in one giant hive, rather than humble themselves and admit the truth.
The saddest thing is that they've tried to weaponize these concepts in the service of their neocon expansionist goals.

And meanwhile right as they're saying that, the so-called 'advanced' 'superior' Western / NATO armies are openly being defeated by the 'primitive' 'inferior' ones proving that well... but these guys are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Unceremoniously booted out of Afghanistan by goat herders, kicked out of the Red Sea by Yemen, incapable of conquering more than a few fences in Southern Lebanon, and currently collapsing in Ukraine against the Russian military... just an endless humiliation.
These guys are more like the courtiers and entertainers for the elites, very similar to how they used to pay bring dwarves and other types to the courts of super-powerful monarchs back in the day.
They get paid to dance for them and entertain them with their fairy-tales, and come up with jokes for them to snicker at, so they can feel superior to their rivals and so that they all don't have to feel so bad about where the whole thing is headed.
The way these highly retarded theories work is that instead of using genetics or IQ to explain questions related to those things (ie where is this trait found, etc) every single political or military or technological or historical outcome is reduced to that.

Believe it or not, that it's-- whoever has superior genetics is going to win, or discover things, or whatever.
Meanwhile Americans today (ignoring the groups that have been brought since 1980, which aren't in charge for the most part) have the same genetic profile as when they won WW2, or put a man on the moon, but today they can't even accomplish basic tasks let alone win wars or make amazing discoveries without spending trillions and trillions of dollars.
Euros have the exact same genes as when they conquered the whole world, or made amazing art, but their societies are mediocre at best, fragmented and divided, and decadent-- and have been for quite awhile now.
If any of those superior genetic groups even tried to fight a war, it would be a huge disaster for them.
The same is true for scientific accomplishments. Europe has contributed almost nothing for a century now, and America's scientific institutions are openly incapable of accomplishing their tasks, riddled with fraud, and devolving into a pseudo-intellectual 'game' for the experts to fiddle around with.
Where is the IQ there? If anything it's higher, due to advances in nutrition and hygiene compared to the 17th or 18th centuries, and yet nothing but stagnation and decline.
Genetics and IQ are just non-explanations, conveniently dismissing any attempt to look at how things have changed in the past (and therefore are going to change in the future), and instead stubbornly and autistically fixating on one factor and using it as the sole cause of everything.
Spanish DNA is 100% the same as the one that the conquistadors had, who built a mega-empire spanning two continents.

Yet nothing, just decline, fragmentation into smaller territories and revival of regional languages, petty corruption and endless infighting among the elites, and just a general lack of a sense of having a purpose to unite around.
Very similar to Britain and France, and you can say the same thing about both of those nations-- in fact, their peak was even more recent (1800s, vs earlier for the Spanish Empire) and yet today they're just as decadent and incapable of doing anything.
Italians are the same as the Romans, genetically-- yet Italy was bumbling joke during WW2, and highly fragmented for most of its post-Roman history.
And Arabs are still the same people as when they controlled swathes of territory, created all kinds of great science and architecture, and so on and so forth.
One of the reasons the genetic copers refuse to learn any history is that it would force them to face this fact, that once an empire begins falling apart-- the way America is doing now-- it's just over, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. You can try and adapt, and hope that it takes a relatively painless route, but the actual collapse is not negotiable.
It's also not just over in one area, but in all of them: all of these empires' economies crashed, their military failed endlessly (and eventually got replaced with an army for local defense, rather than overseas expansion), their culture died out, and so on and so forth.
The exact same as is happening in America, and which you can plainly see by comparing the world of today with that of the 1950s. We could fight a world war, put a man on the moon, create great culture (Hollywood), and all for a fraction of the cost that we spend today, when we don't accomplish anything or even fail miserably.
All of these attempts by America to expand abroad are all equally doomed, for the same reason (the decline of American team-spirit, cohesion, asabiya in Peter Turchin's terms) and therefore all pointless.
However their fragile egos are too addicted to coping to come to terms with the simple facts, so they have to dismiss or sideline the truth, in order to all go go down with the sinking ship.
It's more a question of stubborn pride, rather than humility, not just an intellectual debate between different approaches like I said earlier.
ReplyDeleteThat's why 'pointing things out' won't solve things, since that assumes it's merely a techno-rational right or wrong method problem, when it's mainly psychological.
If instead of hyper-focusing on this or that issue, we try and look at the whole system, it's fairly clear that we used to have a healthy, wealthy, productive population and a great country, with all kinds of institutions. Now we're all poor, unhealthy, and our society is a joke, basically little more than a Ponzi scheme.
The general theme is things that used to be healthy and productive becoming more and more bloated and parasitic, incapable of accomplishing their goals, and then eventually collapsing under their own weight.
Why not learn lessons from the previous system, and ditch the approaches that have led us to this point of abject humiliation, hyper-sophisticated backwardness, endless failure, expensive waste for nothing, and so on?
That would force the decadent and arrogant people we have in charge today to admit that their ancestors (who weren't from huge cities, and weren't super-educated and sophisticated like they are) were better than them, in terms of productivity, accomplishments, etc. But that would blow up the various lies they tell themselves, expose them for the arrogant frauds and mediocrities and non-accomplishers they are, and crush their hugely inflated egos, so that's the last thing they're going to do.
Instead they just dial up the level of coping, close themselves off as much as possible, and erase or marginalize the previous system and its methods as much as they can (or bitterly slander them as racist, primitive, out-dated etc).
Then all that's left is to form a group of Kool-Aid drinking midwits, and go down with the doomed ship together, like they're doing now.
Today's institutions and elites, whether cultural or military or political, will gradually wind up with as much power and relevance as a modern-day Italian wearing a purple toga or a Spaniard dressing himself up as a conquistador. Of course it will take awhile to get there, since they still have a lot of trust and wealth and influence, but that's the path they're on, and it'll become more and more clear to the whole population as time goes on.

The sophisticated, modern, genius, high IQ, efficient, way of doing things: pathetic, disastrous failure.
And the modern approach is even more expensive too. Paying more, while getting less (or nothing). Genius.
You can go back and watch older movies, and look at the state of the world they lived in. Yes, dirt still existed back then, but aside from a few filthy grimy urban areas, the majority of locations are clean, well-maintained, and modern-looking.
Now everything is falling apart, poorly-maintained, in some cases resembling post-apocalyptic wasteland-- and yet we're spending more than ever before, basically drowning in debt!
Paying even more money, just to get nothing out of it. That's neoliberal efficiency in a nutshell.
